About: Joseph Fleischer

In the architecture field for almost half a century, Joseph Fleischer oversees the financial and operational functions of Ennead Architects as a Managing Partner. He has personally served as partner in charge of many of the firm’s projects, and maintains NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) registration in 20 states and the District of Columbia. Fleischer has been with Ennead Architects (formerly Polshek Partnership) for his entire professional career, joining the company in 1966 after completing his Bachelor of Architecture at the City College of New York’s Spitzer School of Architecture.

Joseph Fleischer has managed a wide range of educational facility projects, including those involving public middle and high schools, colleges and universities, and other learning centers. Noteworthy are the New York City Public Schools Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, the City College of New York Colin L. Powell Hall, and the UCLA Morgan Center Intercollegiate Athletics Department and Hall of Fame. Another large portion of Fleischer’s projects has involved museums. Noteworthy among these are the William J. Clinton Presidential Center, the Smith College Museum of Art, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Education Center. In addition, he has been involved with the development of performing arts centers, healthcare facilities, public buildings, and hotels.

Over the years, Joseph Fleischer has served as a guest speaker at venues throughout the New York metropolitan area, including the City College of New York, the schools of architecture at Cornell and Columbia universities, Montclair University, and the New York Society of Architects. An alumnus, Fleischer is very active with the City College Spitzer School of Architecture’s Dean’s Advisory Council.
